We are seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team as Control Room Operators. This role is central to our operations, requiring strong computer skills, the ability to multitask under pressure, and a willingness to work both day and night shifts.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor and track all vehicles to ensure compliance with approved geo-fenced zones, escalating any concerns or irregularities immediately.
- Track and evaluate driver performance to promote safe and efficient driving behaviour.
- Respond to and notify clients of emergency alerts, including vehicle crashes, panic alerts, unauthorized location exits, and battery disconnections.
- Maintain continuous communication with clients and drivers to provide updates and feedback on fleet operations.
- Implement corrective or remedial actions remotely, as per approved procedures.
- Configure and script tracking devices according to client specifications.
- Capture and maintain accurate records of telematics installations and de-installations per vehicle.
- Act as the first point of contact during emergencies and promptly inform relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain constant communication with Clients, technicians, and drivers.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and manage driver and technicians’ activities, equipment usage, and work progress.
- Professionally and efficiently handle all incoming calls.
- Coordinate consistent communication between control room, responders, drivers, managers, and supervisors.
- Oversee Escorting personnel adhere to company procedures at all times.
- Conduct system operational checks, troubleshoot, and escalate issues when needed
- Track CCTV feeds to identify deviations, stoppages, and risks during shifts
- Check equipment levels and settings to ensure compliance with operational ranges
- Complete and submit detailed shift reports, delays, and incidents
- Maintain accurate records and promote good housekeeping in the control room
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum: Matric (Gr.12)
- Minimum PSIRA Grade C required
- MUST be able to to travel to and from the office
- Strong organizational skills, as well as good interpersonal communication and liaison skills are essential.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Multitasking
- Ability to liaise professionally with personnel at all levels.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Logistics experience is an advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft office.
- Excellent telephone etiquette and strong communication skills.
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts (6 AM – 6 PM / 6 PM – 6 AM), including weekends.
- Be prepared to work standby duties on weekends, holidays and after hours when required to do so.
- Work independently and within a team with the ability to coach and support colleagues
- Successful candidates must undergo a background check and polygraph test.
